Boutique hotels in Ghana: Accra design and Busua's surf coast
Accra's small hotels have become the natural base for anyone coming for the design, music or food scene. Add a coastal leg at Busua and you have one of the easiest, most rewarding weeks in West Africa.
Accra and Osu
Villas and courtyard houses with a dozen rooms, gallery-grade art and kitchens cooking modern Ghanaian food. Osu and Airport Residential keep you near the good restaurants.
Jamestown
The old quarter is where studios, photographers and small independent hotels have taken over industrial buildings, the most interesting stay in the city if you want atmosphere over polish.
The coast
Busua is three to four hours west: surf, grilled fish and small guesthouses that have grown up considerably. Go between November and March.
